A Tree of Life

Compassion Colombia works towards fighting against poverty with faith in Jesus and love for others. It is a hard mission but in fifty years we have witnessed, and still do, how children, teenagers, youth, and their families overcome poverty with support from the church and Compassion.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.

Psalms 1:3

Fifty years ago, a few missionaries arrived in Colombia and roamed the meanders of the Cauca and Magdalena rivers in the north of the country.
The Mission discovered a beautiful territory and saw its people’s needs. The missionaries, guided by Jesus’ love, began sowing this land surrounded by fresh water.

This is how we planted the seed for Compassion Colombia.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

Compassion en Colombia es compasión.
